American Legion Post 142 Scholarship

  • Prepare now for next year, those who adhere to the following requirements will be eligible.


  • Include a short paragraph Introducing applicant
  • Applicant must be a relative of an American Legion Post 142, member(s) or a relative of a Veteran.
  • Explain the relationship applicant has to the Veteran.
  • Tell us what knowledge applicant has about the American Legion
  • Write a 100-150 word essay regarding applicants goals/plans for the scholarship.


  • Application must be received by the American Legion Post 142 San Luis Co. on or before May 10th  of the Current year.


  • We will request an acceptance letter from the college of applicants choice.
  • Funds of the scholarship will not be issued directly to the awardee. 
  • Funds will be issued to the acceptance letter college, for use by the scholarship awardee.
  • Funds not expended before departing the acceptance letter college, shall be returned to the American Legion Post 142, San Luis Co. Scholarship fund.


Submit application through local High school Counselor, or American Legion Post 142.


Home School Applicants through accredited program are eligible.
